Problem and audience
Players can see an item on the ground without knowing when its server-side destroy event will remove it. This resource adds a countdown to the item's text tail. It is intended for administrators who can rebuild both the Metin2 game server and the client binary and reconcile packet changes with their current branch.

What was inspected in this copy
The included README credits blackdragonx61. __BL_DROP_DESTROY_TIME__ gates matching client/server changes. Both packet definitions use BYTE bHeader, DWORD dwVID and short sDestroySeconds, with HEADER_GC_ITEM_DESTROY_TIME set to 212. The server records a local destroy time but transmits relative seconds; the client reconstructs a local deadline and updates the countdown periodically. The instructions include text-instance initialization and cleanup.

Integration sequence
1. Find an unused GC header on your branch. Apply the same numeric ID, struct fields, packing and feature macro on both ends; do not reuse 212 if another system already owns it.
2. Merge the server item state/event changes and the EncodeInsertPacket addition so a player entering view receives the remaining lifetime, not just newly dropped items.
3. Register packet size and dispatch in the client network map, then merge the CPythonItem and CPythonTextTail state/update/render/cleanup changes. This copy uses C++11 constructs including nullptr and std::to_string; old compiler branches need an intentional port.
4. Rebuild both ends together. A private test realm should cover first drop, another player entering view later, picking up the item, destroy expiry, ownership labels and repeated map changes.

Compatibility details worth checking
The wire field is a signed short, not time_t. Review configured lifetimes against its range, and keep time_t a local implementation detail. The linked historical discussion includes platform timing problems in other revisions; do not mix a time_t-based packet from an older post with the short-seconds definitions in this archive. Watch server logs for packet-size mismatches and verify the visible countdown against the actual destroy event on your target OS.

Validation and changes
Archive integrity, hash and the supplied instruction fragments were reviewed, including matching wire fields. The file is unchanged. No complete compilation, in-game countdown result or compatibility fix is claimed. Keep the original credits and report the exact branch and packet layout when asking for help.
