Metin2 Playerbots v2.2.16: C++ system integration sources, patches and seed tools
m2city · official · Published 2026-11-02 · Branch-specific details should be checked against your own source.
This download selects the Playerbot integration sources from TieruYT/metin2-playerbots at the MIT-era v2.2.16 tag, commit 47106704f5c4f049619db44235754ce3670cd87c. Tieru introduced the self-hosted project in the original RaGEZONE release discussion. The archive credits Tieru, AzzlackSyndicate, Iwakura and the original project contributors. M2City selected and inspected the files; it did not create this game system.
What is in the ZIP
There are 145 byte-for-byte unchanged upstream files and three M2City inventory/check documents. The selected tree includes linux-port/overlays/playerbot with C++ manager and policy files, integration patches, bot seed SQL, data tables and generator scripts. It also includes the mt2009 adaptation scripts, relevant original documentation and standalone Playerbot tests.
The source modules cover server-side character behaviour such as movement/travel, combat, equipment, parties, guilds and market policies. These are server-side integration sources rather than an external automation program for an existing public server. The package retains the author's original paths so that references between included files remain meaningful.
Compatibility comes before installation
Read NOTICE.md, docs/ATTRIBUTION.md, the selected M2CITY-README.md and the pinned linux-port-mt2009/README.md before choosing a port path. The upstream repository contains r40250-era and mt2009/Martysama r41023 integration paths. They are different engine targets; a matching name or a complete unrelated server pack does not establish compatibility.
For mt2009, the original documentation describes adapting the shared overlay through playerbotify.py. Review that adapter against your own source tree and required bindings. The selected ZIP does not contain the full launcher/installer dependency chain, base game source, game client, icons, textures, compiled binaries or a complete runnable world. Supply the required compatible files separately. This is an integration source kit, not a one-click server/client pack.
Version-specific licence and provenance
The pinned licence grants MIT terms for code written for that project. The original NOTICE explains the boundary between the tooling/patches and separate game material. Both are included unchanged. Current releases use different terms; the rights for this historical selection do not extend to newer protected versions or third-party game files.
M2CITY-MANIFEST.json records each selected original path and SHA-256. M2City adds a short guide and an inspection record, and preserves the selected upstream bytes and notices.
What M2City verified
The complete upstream source snapshot passed ZIP integrity/path checks before selection. The curated ZIP contains 148 files with no included executable, DLL or game-art payload. Ten included Python scripts passed syntax checks. The unmodified standalone world-travel policy test compiled with the existing MSVC C++17 toolchain and assertions enabled, then passed its ten assertions.
That isolated test covers the pure world-policy header. Other included tests, the complete C++ manager, engine integration, AI behaviour, persistence and live client/server gameplay were not built or run by M2City. See M2CITY-CHECKS.json and the catalogue for the exact inventory, size, checksum and validation level.
Describe the system you actually need
When asking about an adaptation, identify your engine revision, source availability, the feature you want and a small reproducible integration question. Full C++ system integration needs a separately agreed scope and is outside the published TXT/Lua/UI audit-and-fix packages. The download itself is a credited free source resource, not a paid installation or an upstream-approved M2City product.
